You are describing my wife. I started working on her as to the real truth and she began to fall apart. I had to back track and now she is back to normal. For me I will just be negative once in a while and when she wants to know she will seek for herself. I figure since there is no true religion then whatever makes people happy will do. I can fake it for now so she can be happy. The day may come when I have to leave the lie and I will cross that bridge when I come to it. Waking up has helped me in many ways but for others it could be disatrous.

I don't think Jesus was insulting the woman. This would be out of character for him. He knew what she was thinking as he could read hearts. She repeatedly tried to get his help and she knew that Canaanites were like dogs to the Jews. She was thinking this is why she couldn't get his help. But he softened the blow of what she was thinking by using the term little dogs and also showed his true character by having mercy on her. Knowing what she did about the Jews attitude towards her people really shows the extent of her faith. It should be noted that the nwt is not the only Bible that renders the term as "little dogs".
Taking all context of the Bible into consideration Jesus came for many reasons including the one mentioned at John 3:16, for "the world" not just one little unfaithful as a whole group aka the Jews. The lost sheep of israel were Christ first attention because of their covenant relationship. But God knew they would reject Jesus and he would turn his attention to the rest of mankind. We should also humbly accept the crumbs and continue to cry to God for mercy since we are all sinners.

Well i quit donating to the world wide work years ago. Recently quit donating to the local congregation fund because they were just sending the surplus to the society. After conventions or assemblies I drop in a penny just so when my wife ask if I put money in I can say "yes dear".
Also since I am a janitor they won't get my inheritance since there won't be one. Maybe enough for a funeral?
P.S. a few years back a good friend died from cancer and he left everything to the society. Nothing to his kids which I found out later that he had molested. Maybe he felt absolved?

Confirmation Bias
by allelsefails ini've read a lot of crap in my life (not just wts) and i have finally found the phrase to describe almost every religious wrting i've read.
"confirmation bias" affects how jws look at historical facts, how dems and repubs look at economic facts, or how all people look at information presented to them.
i still go to meetings every once in a while to make my wife and my boss feel better about me, but sometimes i can't believe how idiotic some things are.

What I liked about the drama: All that bling bling of the costumes and that Potiphar's wife......wow what a good looker!
What i disliked: All that sex talk. I was thinking of all the young children in the audience. Sex should be discussed at home with parents not at the meeting. Just my opinion.

by J.R.R.Watchtower ini've just read at a spanish forum for ex-jw that the wt has cooked a new light article series about social celebrations, including birthdays and aniversaries.
according to a member of this forum 'in short' the wt will let witnesses to decide by 'their bible trained conscience' either they celebrate birthdays or not.
is this rumor based in some real facts or it's just bullshit?.

As far as anniversaries for married couples, well my wife is always sending out cards and sometimes I get the feeling from some that they think this is wrong? Can't say for sure no one has ever said anything but I have just gotten that feeling from them.
